How to Install the Citrix Java Client

1. Make sure the client system is properly configured and connected to the network.

2. Start a Web browser. In the browsers address field, type the IP address or DNS name of the Web server containing the ICA Java Client files, followed by the name of the ICA Java Client setup HTML file (download.htm). Rebuild backup server without losing backup exec settings and jobs

1. Run BEUtility.exe from the old server
Choose “Copy Media Server Configuration”
2. Copy old catalogs folder to somewhere safe

3. Copy old “besernum.xml” somewhere safe too.

4. Install new O/S, pathces and Backupexec importing above xml.

5. Stop all backupexec services on new media server.

6. Paste old catalogs to new media server.

7. Run BEUtility.exe on new media server
Choose “Apply Copied Media Server Configuration

8. Start the services.

Unable to send or receive PIN messages from users who are not in the same BlackBerry domain

Alerter: Most times this service is not used. It takes care of administrative alerts over a network for administrative purposes.

Automatic Updates: Downloading and installing Windows updates. If you think you don’t need this service, you can disable it. Remember that the Windows update website doesn’t work anymore without this service, since the introduction of Windows XP SP2. I advise to keep it unchanged. Fastpush is a script that can remotely install WinVNC on to a computer running NT, 2000 or XP. You need admin rights to do this, but it will work over any reasonable network connection.

Excel 2007 slow when opening documents

The only issue I have is I double click an Excel file, it takes several minutes for the file to come up.
I have found that when I  open Excel and if I right-click, click Open and then click Cancel, it brings the document quickly.

If you have Acrobat 5 installed, do a search for PDFmaker.xla on entire c:\ drive. Whatever you find in Office startup folders delete.
You can still use Acrobat Distiler to create PDF files or use the built-in function from Excel : “Save As”.

If still doesn’t work try activating one “Add-in” from Excel and it should do the job (I have no explanation for this, it just works).
